S2 - Vienna of Celebrities

Mozart We follow the tracks of historic personalities. Vienna has attracted them as hardly any other city over the centuries: composers, authors, physicians, inventors, painters, actors, conductors or architects. They were born, lived or died in Vienna. Some of them got to the top of their carreer in Vienna. Others at least tried to do so. We also hear of outstanding scientists and Nobel Prize winners. Request

S3 - Baroque Vienna

At the end of the 17th century, after the defeat of the Turks, Vienna was considerably enlarged to become a Baroque residential and capital city. We will disover this period, a time when everything had to serve as a stage for the representation of splendour. What was living like in those times? What kind of architecture was built? We pass by huge and magnificent noble palaces and we visit the state hall of the National Library, one of the most impressive Interiors in Austria. Request

S4 - Culinary Vienna

The mulit-cultural and multi-lingual Habsburg monarchy has also left a colourful culinary variety to Vienna. Be it Sachertorte, Apfelstrudel or Kaiserschmarrn. Be it Gulasch, Tafelspitz or Zwiebelrostbraten. Doing some research, where the Old Viennese cuisine really comes from, we will hear about very important Viennese institutions like Würstelstand, Heuriger und Kaffeehaus. And at the end you will be sure about at least one thing: Never to order a simple "coffee" in one of the coffee houses of Vienna. Request

S5 - Musical Vienna

Vienna is the world capital of music. We follow the trace of great composers like Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert and Strauss. We hear about the Vienna State Opera, one of the most famous opera houses all over the world and about the Vienna Boys Choir. As a conclusion of our tour we will enjoy masterpieces of the composers we have heard about, performed on the piano. Request
